Jessyca is a licensed Social Worker, Columbia University alumni and former faculty Advisor with over 20 years in mental health field in a wide range of roles including licensed therapist, nonprofit director, administrator, and group facilitator. She is also the owner of a natural hair and beauty business, Naturally Beautiful Hair Care, and a new nonprofit, Hair to Empower, which is a fusion of mental health empowerment and hair and beauty support, primarily for black women. Her work focuses on expanding mental health support for all individuals, including stylists and clients, and expanding entrepreneurship opportunities in hair care within the Black community.

Her approaches are always holistic, incorporating the cultural, spiritual, physical, natural and other aspects that are important and relevant in the journey to wellness and success.

She terms herself a “spiritual therapist”, and uses these unique intuitive approaches in combination with traditional therapeutic methodologies to create tailored support to clients and individuals. She believes the keys to providing effective assistance lies in understanding that there are unique areas of needed support, especially within our communities. This will require an understanding and knowledgeable perspective that includes expansive thinking, multi-faceted approaches, and empowering elements at every level.
